Early Thursday morning officials cancelled the second men’s downhill training in Lake Louise

LAKE LOUISE, Canada – Early Thursday morning officials cancelled the second men’s downhill training in Lake Louise. After an early morning inspection of the race course it became clear that the heavy overnight snowfall would make it unrealistic for the course to be ready in time for the 11h30 start. According to the weather forecast, conditions will not be improving today so cancelling the training seemed like the only option.

Unfortunately, the snowstorm that hit Canadian province of Alberta and Banff National Park could possibly go on until midday Friday making the third and last scheduled DH training a challenge. Luckily conditions should drastically improve late Friday and early Saturday and blue skies and very cold temperatures are expected for the weekend and two days of great racing should go according to plan.
